going through his list of remixes on the hub, i was surprised to see how many Madonna remixes he worked on that he wasn't given credit on, like Beautiful Stranger, ROL, Frozen. Don't know why they were all just called the Calderone mixes.

Hey Hyperballad! Thanks for joining the forum and posting a thread! Yes and I agree with you 100%!!! I noticed towards the end of Mac's tenure with Calderone he was finally starting to get credit, I am certain that was on his insistence and with those skills one would be crazy not to demand their name be alongside for their own work! Of course that was how this bloody industry worked! All the Programmers should have gotten together and formed their own union or record label, imagine how things would be like today if they did that. Maybe things wouldn't be so dire now... At least all the fans would know whose work was what and then maybe we could have all rallied around them if they had their own releases. They couldn't do anything on their own without the DJs as their careers are / were all tied up in the DJs names. And now with the DJs faltering they can't do anything as no one knows who they are. I'm hoping to change all that through the MHH and theMHRproject. The DJs had no qualms about taking credit for work they didn't do. It was systemic amongst them, they all did it. It was like a dirty little secret that all the DJs knew about but didn't speak about. And all the Programmers had no choice but to be quiet or they wouldn't be hired anymore. Jim Heinz knows this dynamic very well as JP was one of the worst too! Hence why Jim will never work with him again and have absolutely NOTHING to do with him, ever! This isn't happening anymore as most of the Programmers aren't doing anything anymore. Tony Coluccio does work on his own now for his own label and DJ Escape, his name is out there, but his work is nothing like it was when he was Programming for JP. Tony Moran's Programmers have been getting credit now. Even on one of Tony's recent mixes he listed 2 of his Programmers in the title with his name! Which was pretty shocking. I've started getting Mac's mixes up on my SoundCloud (theMHRproject). A lot have been taken down for 'copyright violation' but lots haven't. Most of those were allowed on my youtube. Thanks again for taking the time to post something here. Sorry it took long for me to reply, I don't check it that often as it's not that lively, yet... I really want this place to be lively but I'm not sure how to reach people. And I need to reach more people if we're to save this music. Any ideas would be wonderful and if you could get some more people interested in this movement that would be great too! Thank you! ~Patrick
